Early May 2002 Deputy Karen Flexer,
suggested a poster contest for a mascot.
Letters where hand delivered to all the
schools in Carbon County and on May
20th a poster was picked and announced
on May 27th at the Sheriff's Jr Deputy
Fishing Contest .
Beaver Run Rod & Gun Club donated
$100.00 to the contest.
There was a tie for second place, in
which Wayne Fritzinger donated
towards a Third Place.

Pictures were taken at the Courthouse
on May 30th and bonds given.
Sheriff Dwight Nothstein contacted
Coastal Colours Products of Scarbrough
Maine for three dozen stuffed moose's
about a foot high and also contacted a
Sally Long of Lehighton to make the
uniforms as in the poster.
